Cpu Problem

Post by The Scientist » Tue Jan 10, 2006 5:18 pm

i wanted to re-install the os on my laptop due to some low performance, and other problems. SO I proceeded to re-install windows xp, and loaded up all my programs Acid, reason, ABleton. I did al the tweaks as usual from the musicxp.net. And when i run Ableton w/ the performance test the cpu is at like 37-40 which is what it was at before, but now after about 30 thirty seconds it starts to get larger, and then freezes > 40-,45,60,65,70 so on and so forth. Has any experienced this. This even happens in Reason, and Pro tools now. So i know its not just Ableton. I have re-installed the os before, but everything ran fine, and now i basically cant use my laptop for music. the only program that works fine is Acid Pro Fine. My comp specs are in my signature.
thanks

your fan is probably clogged up with dust making the cpu overheat. get a can of pressurised air and blow all the dust out. I have a 3.2p4 as well and i have to do this all the time
