LIVE 5 and MPC1000 combo
Anybody using Ableton Live 5 and MPC1000 together ?
I figured this should be the combo from hell,
and it will be when i figure out a solid working method.
The main features of this combo that will rock when i get them down are...
1 - Using Impulse to sketch mpc programs and midi files.
2 - Sampling Virtual instruments and dumping them to MPC.
(this is rather simple but would be good to refine it)
3 - MPC is a dope Midi controller for drums
I want to find the best way to import midi files from either of abletons arrange pages and export impulse programs and wav files to MPC1000.
Using the MPC as a controller for Live would be a bonus as i can use the autoload function to have an MPC program for controlling Live on the MPC ready to use each time i start it up.
Any experiences, suggestions, ideas ?
Cheers
Ive posted this on Tips and Tricks too...
(I would post a link between the two if i knew how to.)

yeah ive had some warnings about the mpc1000 pads...
i just want a compact hardware version of live that i can take along to a set of turntables and just drop some beats and scratch it up with... i gotta use my laptop for final scratch (or leave it at home)

soundcloud Live 9 & Push / Reaper / Octatrack / Rytm / MicroBrute / Nord Modular G1 & G2 / Waldorf Rack Attack / Juno 60 / Monotron & Duo / SeratoDJ / Komplete 9 / OhmForce
The MPC 1000 and laptop w/Live 5 is the core of my live set.
It's great. I play live dub/triphop so the MPC takes care of my beats and Ableton takes care of the rest.
I run the MPC as the master and slave Live off it, I do this because I keep running into issues running Live as a master.
I have found the pads on the MPC fine, I use it in full velocity mode so I don't have to punch them but others have had them wear out.
It's also great because it's so small, it fits in a backpack.
I would def. recomended it.

I'm rockin the same setup. I use live to track out my tracks into loops, and throw effects on tme from there, and then mix. i'm luvin this setup also. yea I've had some problems withe pads my. i had 4 dfectives pads replaced by VST. i myself use full level most of the time, but i;m also considering getting trigger finger/maybe mpd for use with Live%, and to use with my MPC1k. Whatcha you guys thinkI'm just tryin to get a general consesus. Especially for ppl who using the trigger finger/ mpd with there mpc1k?
Hey Scientist, the trigger fingers pads are nice. When I have used it I was using it to control Live not the MPC, but if your having prob's with your MPC pads this would be option, and you get sliders as well! The Scientist wrote:I'm rockin the same setup.
