impulse routing

Post by aike » Thu Jan 12, 2006 1:34 pm

Let me explain first.

I have a kick, snare and a 3 hat samples loaded up in impulse, I want send the kick, snare and the hats to seperate channels. I can send the kick and snare ok, but how do I send the 3 hats to a single channel.

If I can get that sorted then It be goodbye fruity loops.

cheers for any answers

You have to first send each hi hat to a separate channel. Then you buss those 3 (hats) audio channels to another audio channel to have the one track control the 3 hats. Make sense?

PS - You can also see an example of this here:

Thats the way I have been doing it, just wondered if there was another way which didn't involve so many channels.

cheers

W/ Live's current routing scheme, I don't think so. If anyone can correct me, please do. I know it takes up a little more screen real estate with the current solution, but hey, at least it works. :D

Don't route the hats anywhere, that way they stay on the channel where your Impulse is (so all the hats are together) route Kick snare, etc. to seperate channels.

:D
