How do I make my micro korg(hardware) work as a software vst

Post by dontknow » Sat Jan 14, 2006 2:29 pm

How do I set my micro korg so it works like a vsti? Which means that I can play midi clips in ableton on my microkorg.

Now I only can record audio from the microkorg, and use it as a midi keyboard.

I have put in both rca cables and midicables to my soundcard from the synth.

Since you probably have connected the MIDI out from the E-MU 0404 to the microKORG's MIDI in, you need to set the MIDI To setting of the track in Live to point to E-MU MIDI and select a MIDI channel, then just play the MIDI clip. Maybe you need also to set the microKORG to Omni mode. Should be as simple as that really. But make sure you have activated the E-MU MIDI ports in Live's preferences.

kitos, thanks for your help!

But there is still a problem left, I cant hear the sound from the micro korg which is created by the arpeggiator in the micro korg. The only sound the midi file can control is when it push a key on the micro korg. But I guess its impossible to use the arpeggiator in the micro korg when I use midi in ableton live?

you may be able to sync the microkorg if you send midi clock from live to it, and if you set the micro kong to slave mode... you'll have to check to MicroKorg manual on that one.
