I don't know if this was happening witih 5.0.2.
But in 5.0.3 after I export a clip as a midi file, all items in the file menu are grayed out and unavailable. No saving, no open, no nothing.
Even with keyboard shortcuts none of these items are available.
That's not all. If i open and close the preference window, everything becomes available again
Anyone else ?

Confirmed.
Going to preferences and back sorta fixes it untill you export a clip again..

Also, selecting 'Quit Live' from the drop-down menu, then cancelling it, works.

Confirmed as well. Happens to all menus, not just the File menu.
Switching to another app, then back to Live, also restores the menu functionality.

Hi folks,
you are right. I can conform that it happens on OS X so I put it on the list.
But I cannot yet say when we will address this bug.

I cannot confirm this here at home but if this one is still there it is only by mistake and should be fixed within the next beta, sorry.

Hi folks,
I cannot reproduce this with Live 5.2b3. In only get it in Live 5.0.3.
In Live 5.0.3 I exported a MIDI clip via (right mouse click) context menu and the afterwards the menu was grayed out. But this does not happen for me in Live 5.2b3.
So maybe I missed something, what exactly you do to get this in 5.2b3?

All I can say is that the first time you try to export a midi clip thru the contextual menu or the file menu, yes, sometimes, the menus are still there afterward, but try a second time and bye bye menus.

- select any midi clip in session view
- export midi clip via the file menu
- Menu should be greyed out
If it doesn't happen. repeat this and overwrite the midifile you just made.
The menu will be greyed out.

Ok, got it.
Now it still happens when you get the dialog that a file with this name already exists. If you then choose replace the menus stay gray.
We will check this.
