sound degradation when playing back 96khz project at 44.1khz

Post by alan* » Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:25 am

I am certainly no expert so there may be something I might not realize but thought to post this issue anyway in case it is a bug.

Recently did a recording session / track composition using some sound samples that were at 44.1 / 16bit and using some of our own newly recorded sounds at 96 / 24bit. Because it was getting that my computer could not handle playing session back at 96 without freezing tracks I tried changing to playback at 44.1 but noticed a lot of sound degradation ? I am pretty sure the sound degradation is not to do with my computer performance as it sounds different when I get sound drop out related to cpu.

is this happening with HI quality sample rate conversion enabled in the clip settings?

Hi Justin, I just checked and all the clips already had HI-Q activated in the clip settings.

Thanks.
