Compressor/Limiter

Post by silliwilli » Mon Jan 16, 2006 8:08 pm

What are the best settings to get a good punchy sound from these?

Do you just throw them over the master?

Sorry for being such a n00b

Hey,

What are you using? The compressors in Live or plugins?

the best set up is to put the compressor before the limiter , set up the compressor to make sure the limiter doesn't overwork the sound

The best technique I have found is to twiddle with the nobs until it sounds hot. Don't over compress. I made this mistake once and ruined one of my favorite tracks.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.
