I was there. I saw things that weren't kosher. IDF troops, like all troops, get in trouble for doing unethical things. Shit happens. But a systematic goal to target children is usually the byproduct of a very sick and twisted mind.

I knew there had to be a few sane folks on this BB. Although I do believe our SUV-esque culture contributes to our need for oil, and as a result, seduces us to form relationships with countries that are anything but friendly and nice. We'd do well do simplify our lives.

Yes I am sane and I have much respect for our soldiers who are laying it on the line while we fiddle with faders and knobs.

I agree with you about the need for oil but on the flip side of the coin, certain political parties in the US do everything in their power to prevent any kind of solution to the energy crisis, I guess they want us all to drive a Prius! Drill ANWAR etc!

I also agree about you're other point...for instance, dealing with the Saudi's is a risky gamble but one that all adminstrations has played regardless of political persuasion.

I half expect our country to look like a scene from Blade runner in 50 years..

If we all thought Katrina was bad, just imagine a multi city terrorist nuke attack(which as any terrorism expert will tell you is not a question of if but when). Coming to a major city near you.

There were also some facts and figures reported by israels own human rights group, indicating that ...if you care to go back a few pages on this thread.....something like 1700 civilians have been killed by the IDF, a third are children. Whilst israel has lost 690, half of whom are military personal.
