got it.
anyways, a lot of people think they know what skinny puppy is all about and aren't interested and then you play them something like "ghost track" from bites and they're all like "what is this track?" And you're like, "It's skinny puppy, dumbass."
these guys are one of the reasons i make electronic music.
.lm.
Word.
SP are amazing. I discovered them in '87 and it changed my life. I had a hint fo what was going on "undergroung" via Cabaret VOltairte but then when I heard the distinctive caterwauling gutteral screeches of Nivek, the world changed.
Too Dark Park is their pinnacle as far as I am concerned. Amazing.
Saw them on Halloween in '89 in NYC. I was wearing a priest collar. My fiend was so pysched to get covered in blood. Some pussy group called Nine Inch Nails opened up for them.
Those were the days.

Nice post. I can't believe all of the videos are here! I got into them when I was really young myself, but I never got to see them while Goettle was still around. There is little room for thought- they are the most important band that I ever listened to. As silly as they are in hindsight.

After careful consideration, I would have to say that Skinny Puppy are in my opinion the greatest electronic music producers/performers other than DJ Traxx and Robert Hood......

pretty much the reason I got into electronic music in the first place, and the driving force behind me trying to learn and develop is skinny puppy. That and Download.

it's amazing how SP wrote the book on industrial, and then closed it
impossible to not hear their influence around the industrial scene
industrial innovation belongs to just a handfull of people

Huge SP and Download fan here. Last Rights was why I got into electronic music, and DL's "III" is by far my vote for best electronic album ever. cEvin Key is the man, nuff said.

Must have gone to 1/2 a dozen of their shows at METRO in Chicago....back in the 80's. I actually write to them and they responded.
cevin = creative genius.

SP played the Metro more than once? I only ever remember one show they did there...
Now KMFDM, those guys played there ALL the time.
