Recording

Post by arushmusic » Wed Jan 18, 2006 7:04 pm

Gentlemen...I am a novice using software so please bare with me. I have been configuring my system on my own so far and things are looking up.

I am basically trying to get some ideas on how to record my performances into live. I am using primarily MPC and Live, and i have live midi in to mpc sort of like a sound module. For instance my first 6 tracks in the mpc will be drum samples from the mpc and the remaining tracks 7-16 is from individual live midi tracks loaded with simpler or impulse.

Now, my question is how do I multitrack all of my stuff as audio back into live for mixing and burning. I hate doing the sync thing because is a little complicated. However I am open to trying any suggestions.

I really appreciate your feedback.

Since your new, i'll bite... Couple of tips.. next time, don't be so general with your title.. you're better off with something like "Live and MPC". But, even before you post your Q, you may want to search the forum first... for something like "Live MPC" 8O

So here's some links to help you out...

do a search, and you'll find more..

Is it the case that the mpc has several outputs?

If so then all you need is a audio interface or soundcard that has multiple inputs and outputs.

i reccomend some of the emu systems as they are good, easy to use and come with loads of dsp plugins.

Hey wilxon I have the Hammerfall RME Multiface, 4 stereo analog ins/outs, and i also have the 8outs on the mpc. I normally record about 4 bars of different patterns into the mpc, and i would like to record those 4 bars of maybe 12-16 tracks into Live so i can complete the song. So recording all my tracks into Live is the part i am trying to figure out.

Thanks

im not too sure what it is you have a problem, im guessing that you want to achieve the recording of 12 - 16 tracks?

Is it the case that you can get all signals into the computer, but need to enable record mode in LIve?

It may be too early in the morning and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but...

I think an M-Audio Octane will solve the problem.

Connect it to the ADAT in on your Multiface and boom-shanka, 8 more audio inputs.

Simply said, I am trying to multitrack into the arrange window in Live for mixdown, for instance 6 individual tracks with drum sounds from the MPC and and another 6 tracks generated from simpler.

How can I convert all the midi tracks into separate audio tracks in live.

thanks

read the manual, have a go of the tutorials in the program.
they are really good, and go into good depth.

a lot more than i could now on these boards.

if you have a problem, look n the manual first, then look on these forums, then start a thread, or if you think its a bug or a real problem, report to the abletons,

but dont ask people how to do things that are very clearly outlined in the book, it makes them mad

There are some good dudes on this forum, however majority of you are very arrogant. If you can't help then just keep your trap shut. As i stated to begin with I am a novice, i have gottten pretty far ahead getting live running with no backround in computer music, mainly because I read read and read.

But all I keep hearing is you "will upset such and such if you don't do this or that", "you should go to the clearly outlined manual", wtf is the forum for.
I wish I would come across some of you selfish punks.

to do what excactly? 8O

the problem forums are for people with real problems, not for people who dont bother to look much and just expect others to give them the answers.

YOU CAME ON HERE FOR HELP, GOT GIVEN IT BY MEANS OF LINKS TO FOLLOW, THEN YOU GO CALLING PEOPLE ARROGANT.

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT, A STEP BY STEP GUIDE SIMILAR TO THE ONE IN THE INSTRUCTIONS.

IF ITS SOMETHING SPECIFIC YOU WANT ASK FOR IT,
