Well I just bought yesterday a Wacom Volito tablet for my daughter in the local Aldi superstore (29 € ...) .. it was advertised as windows only so I thought it could be usefull for a 12 year old on her older win98 PC ... indeed fun ...
This morning however I tried it with my Mac's and know what, it works smoothly ... it needs some getting used to when you never used something similar but I see some good uses for it ..
Tried it in Live 3,0,4 (osX 10,3,9) on the envelopes and worked rather good ...

yeah the little faders and knobs are buggy, like too senstitive. Using my tablet I use the stylus to drag and drop stuff, draw envelopes, velocity, VST params, etc., but when using the little tiny knobs and stuff in LIVE I usually just tap it to select it and use the arrow buttons. Maybe someday they will fix it....when more people start using tablets......otherwise it still kills the mouse generally for everything else...nothing is perfect...I think tablet technology is still too advanced and hasn't been really taken into consideration for Live....

i have been planning to get a tablet for Photoshop work, one of the first things i thought when i moved over to Live a few months ago was how cool it would be to operate with a tablet.err_fatale wrote:I think tablet technology is still too advanced and hasn't been really taken into consideration for Live....

Wacom tablet are expensive but not that expensive. I think we may have got our wires crossed here.err_fatale wrote:i recommend it. it's the only way to go. they cost the same as high end notebooks.
I was talking about graphics tablets.

fine for drawing envelopes - but the other buggy area is when u ry and edit the break points... whoa it sux at it..... even in fine mode its a beast to control - a bit like riding a bike on ice.....err_fatale wrote:yeah the little faders and knobs are buggy, like too senstitive. I've got an intuos. Been using it for about a year and a half now and it has definitely doubled my productivity. I am pretty much reliant on it now, if anything happened to it I would be screwed. I work mostly with photoshop, illustrator, and indesign. The keys on the intuos are the shit when you program to perform application specific shortcuts.network.funky wrote:i have been planning to get a tablet for Photoshop work, one of the first things i thought when i moved over to Live a few months ago was how cool it would be to operate with a tablet.
I have also used it with live, matter of fact the last gig I had, my friend thomas and I as FEAR the plumber, I used the wacom.
You can operate Live with your tablet
I use a wacom tablet and installed tablet 2 midi

Then you need a virtual midi cable
