Okay, I've read all the threads on the mbox, and there is obviously a problem previewing tracks while djing in Live if I only have the Mbox and the default audio card.
Asio4all is not recognizing my mbox, so I can't use the comp audio card and the mbox together. Any ideas on how to preview tracks while djing? Is there another program that will combine my sounds cards into one?
Thanks,
DT
mbox/asio4all/live5 question
I'm aware that digidesign's products won't work with the asio4all card. Since there isn't another driver out there that aggregates multiple sound cards, you'll need a hardware solution to accomplish what you're trying to do. With my digi002, i have multiple outputs, so i send my cue to a seperate output than 1/2, but the mbox doesn't have ability. OSx has the ability to aggregate audio devices, but unless you have a Mac, you're shit out of luck. You're best bet is to get another sound card with more outputs, or one that works with asio4all.
In addition to that, Digidesign soundcards are single client products, so if you want to use, say, soundforge to edit a sample while live is still open, you have to close live first to hear the audio on soundforge. For this reason, I am quite dissapointed with digidesign. The only way to edit the sound and be able to toggle between two programs running sound through the mbox is rewire live into pro tools, which takes a performance hit and renders this method unusable for me. POO!!!

if you rewire live to anything else you i think you lose the ability to use vst's inside live.Steffanovich wrote:I'm having exactly the same problem - maybe its possible to rewire live to a program that supports multiple soundcards? If such a thing exists. Anyone have any ideas?
