Small silly questions

a) when i try to save and specifically name a plug-in setting, i right click "rename" then i rename, but Live ignores the renaming and reverts to a generic name (i.e. "ring mod")....giving me a list of plug-ins with the same name which are different.

b)can i put empty space in a clip? can i delay immediate looping of a clip that is?

c)my AUGraphic EQ disappears from my track after i leave the track to work on another....i can still hear its effects on the track but it is not in my device chain....spooky

d) i want to group devices, so i shift + click all my devices for a clip and then ctrl click to group them but the "group devices" option is faded --inaccessible....so i'm confused.

i think Live is Wonwonwonderful but i'm not used to the interface yet. thanks, feel free to respond with contempt and irritation considering how obvious these things might be to others..

are you trying to group 3rd party plugins? I think you can only group native Live fx/instruments, i can't remember for sure though as i dont use this function very often.

a) huh weird, i don't know whats going on there.

b) yes, go to the envelope section of the clip, make an unliinked envelope for clip volume. set the loop brace to start when you want the clip to start playing and turn the envelope to 0 for all the space preceding it. make sure you leave the start triangle at one.

c) very spooky indeed. i also have no answer for you there either.

d) group devices only works for lives built in plugins. If you want to save a group of plugins including third party plugs, use the "live clips" feature.
