Hello,
I'm not sure if this is an appropriate Ableton post, but I hope someone can help here.
I was working in 5.0.3 just now, and out of the blue my Ctrl key stopped working. I physically popped the key out and it worked for about 2 seconds and it stopped working again. Funny thing is, I open Samplitude and the Ctrl key works!! BUT....only for certain functions, like select all (Ctrl A) & save (Ctrl S), and does NOT work for zooming in and out (Ctrl +/-). So i know physically they key is functional, but somehow it only works for certain functions. I've switched back and forth between the 2 programs and it consistenly works partially in Samplitude and not at all in Live. The key does not work even in Word.
I'm using a Toshiba A70 laptop, P4 3.33 Ghz, 1.5 RAM. I just got it back from service shop because somehow I sent a shock to my laptop one day and fried my RAM, causing it to shutdown upon power-up. somewhat of a problematic laptop, according to a lot of online reviews, but for me it worked very well for the first 5 months.
I know this is more a question for a computer forum but i'm wondering if anyone has experienced this bizarre phenomenon. It's really hindering my workflow in Live.
Thanks in advance for any idea on how to fix this.
