They are my main musical roots. I grew up on uk hardcore / jungle / drum and bass. But now I make whats being called 'breakstep' or 'dubstep'. Most new D&B is really bad these days, I lost interest about 4-5 years ago. But I know there are still quality tunes being made, u just gotta hunt them down.

so am i. i first came in contakt with jungle in 95. then i was more into bootybass which didnt really make its way from us to europe exept some tunes like "whoomp there it is". then i was into d b when it came to "dance music". maybe because its a relative to jazz which i really dig.

could you give me some examples of what 'breakstep' or 'dubstep' are?

Hell Yeah!

Just bought "The Classics" mixed by Goldie. It has Live ALL OVER IT!!! If you've ever seen Goldie live, you'll know what I mean! ;-)

I once saw Goldie at Homelands in a "battle" with DJ Touche. Touche was ripping out scratch routines that you wouldn't believe - in reply Goldie Dropped "Warhead" by Krust. Awesome...

This mix has 2 minute blends throughout. The upright bassline from "Brown Paper Bag" is looped for a good minute before he drops the whole tune!

Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

(cue the falling asleep bit)

Oh yes btw, I iz a D'n'b fan, as long as it's at least pseudo-intelligent, non-jump-up stuff. Check out "Operator Rinse" in my sig, if you haven't already - that's about as low-brow as I'll get.
