no presets for instruments or plugins

oddly enough when i install version 5 on my machine. there are no preset available for either instruments or effets.

anyone know what the problem is, or the fix?

Hello frugalpole,

Sometimes, a fresh installed Live 5 can’t locate the preset files or lessons. You will then need to copy these files manually.
Here’s what you have to do:

OS X:
CRTL-Click the Live 5 application. Choose „Show package contents“ from the menue.
Then open the folder "App-Resources" and copy the "Essential.alp" and?"Lessons.alp" on your desktop.?Now open your Live application and choose "install Live pack" from the?menue and open the .alp files.??Windows:
Locate the .alp files and copy them to a directory of your choice.
You can find the missing content in here:
\Ableton\Live 5.0.3\Resources\Default packages
Open Live application and choose "install Live pack" from the?menue and open the copies.alp files.
