Powermac G4 4gg 768Ram 120GigLacieD2 Ext FWDrive
OS 9.1 Live 2.0.3
Digi001w/Steinberg ASIO drivers
43ms of overall latency
BTW Anybody know a way I can get lower overall latency from my setup?
What's going on these days with Coreaudio for OSX and Live? Is there a better driver available for me? Should I upgrade to a 002R? I need lower latency and I don't want to have to buy a new interface. Any suggestions?

the dur
Live 2.1 (although i've been using the 3 beta, and the upgrade is looking attractive)
w/reason 2.1
10.2
powerbook g4 550mhz
I can play about 4-6 loops at a time with about 6 or so effects
Sometimes when I get a cool sound on a loop I'll grab the output as another clip, and disable all the effects as I've captured them in the new clip to save cpu.
I don't like how unresponsive the system gets when i run reason as a slave, so i just export my loops and drop them into live.

Hi Pablo,
regards,
Alex
do you have already tried live 2.1.2? Since version 2.1 Live has support for Digidesign's Direct I/O. Using Direct I/O you should be able to get lower latencies.OS 9.1 Live 2.0.3

Alex, Thank you SO MUCH! I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight. I'm curious do you know about hom much the latecncy will drop using Digi's DirectI/O?
Right now I've got about 43ms of overall latency.

Alex it's Pablo Here,
Thanks again your the man, Live2.1.2 is awesome!
With a 512 Buffer setting I'm down to 22ms of OVERALL latency Woo Hoo!!!
I'm up in the clouds
I can get down to like 8ms with a 384 buffer setting.
I really apreciate the tip. I had so much latency using the asio driver, that when I performed live using Live i would pretend the latency was a cool new slap delay effect
