We should do a roll-call to see where people are actually located (There isn't a Crunktopia, TX, btw). Whay they need (samples, lessons, etc) and what they want to contribute (samples, lessons, etc)
I am always going down to Austin, so a Live meet on a weekend sounds fine by me.
Oh, yeah. - Dallass, TX is my hood.

Houston, I know spiralgrooves is in Houston too. We talked at a recent party about getting this going. He was all up for it. I think an initial meet and greet, share some beers and check out each others gear and recent noise would be great.

Also, for those of you that don't know, there's a monthly laptop deathmatch in Dallas. I haven't been yet, but am hoping to go to the next. Supposed to have a pretty good turnout every month, and there are a lot of people on the myspace site. Check it out at www.laptopdeathmatch.com .

very cool, looks like there are quite a few live users in the Austin area. I am going to be in LA for the next two weeks, but when I get back would definitely be up for getting together. I'm game for anything - playing my tunes/listening to others/swapping notes and techniques etc. Ultimately, down the road, I would love to setup a venue where we can do some stuff live here in Austin. Though I am new to the area - the 6th street area looks like it could have some venues that cater to electronic music.
To coordinate, we can either do another post on this forum just for Austin (so as to not jack this thread) or if you guys want you can email me and I can create a group email to try to coordinate things (to get ideas from everyone and setup some dates.) Just let me know.
Doc
by the way, what kind of music is everyone into/making? I'm more along the lines of chemical brother/fatboy slim, but certainly do trance and other styles as well.

I am excited!!!
to answer the question about what music we (or myself particularly) do, check out my site at
www.planetglu.com. CLick on the glu music page, there are a bunch of clips from different tracks, pre Ableton Live though...
I don't have too many tricks or tips up my sleeve in terms of live, still actually getting to know the program, but It would be awesome to see how other people use it, especially over a few drinks on 6th St.

I should have a song done by the time something comes around. I usually get about 1 done a year and they are usually remixes of the ones I have previously done.
I am ready for a road trip to Austin. Woohoo!
