Auto Warp does not work please work on this Ableton
I have posted about this before in the feature request forum but I just cant stress it enough so I am posting it here as a bug. A auto warp that works is important if i am to be using ableton live as a tool for playing live often. I have spent MANY hours warping tracks. When going thrgouh entire hard drives of tracks this takes months. I feel that I should be able to spend the time that I have spent warping tracks doing things that are more important like working on mixes and sets. I do not have any plans of jumping ship but I have tried the demo of another dj mixing software that auto beat matches your tracks on the fly and it works very well.
My point is that auto warp is not auto at all. If it where auto I would be able to select a folder in my live browser and select analize audio and come back in a couple of hours and it would be done.
Nothing is ever perfect and I would always expect to have to fix some tracks but as it stands I dont get any tracks that warp with out me fixing them. None. This is not only me as I have been talking with other friends that work with live and they are saying the same thing. If there is some magic that I am missing please share it with me.
P.s. I have made this a poll just because I am curious as to how others feel. Not as a stab at Ableton.
Thanks

It works great for me. It's saved me HUNDREDS of hours over Live 4. It's admittedly not perfect, but neither is the music it analyzes.
It's not a 'magic push-button DJ' solution. It does require some effort.

I do agree with you hambone warping tracks in live 5 can be faster than in live 4 but often the "auto warping" has even made things take longer. I am not lookinig for magic. I just feel that saying that your tracks will be "auto warped" is very misleading. Even in the "Rock solid ableton livewarping technique 101" lessons he says this in step one.....
I could not have said it better. This turns Live 5's automatic autowarp *off* by default. It also sets the Default Warp mode to "beats"
We will not be using or discussing autowarp in this tutorial, for a couple of reasons:
First reason is that the results are somewhat inconsistent as of this writing: warp markers are often set off the beat and need to be corrected manually, and it will often set markers in the wrong positions that will need to be deleted. People wait all this time for the program to draw it up ... and its off.
Then they do all this fiddling around to correct and adjust, and before they know it a few minutes are wasted: they waited and did extra work for nothing, and its not as good or fast as it would have been if they had done it by hand in the first place. When you multiply that by hundreds of tracks thats hours of your life wasted.

Its not working for me no times
I use warping method I found link on hoffman2k post. It was best one it was to warp from end of song so itry it and it working fast and good. I not used autowarp now because it make more time and trouble than to doing the warp by hand. BUT i on other days load version four I thinking it is easy than version five to warp by hand? I dont liking version five autowarp i thunk it was pr game like mp3
not useingfull to making the music but add up the $$ sales.
The beatdetection algorhythm is called AufTakt and licensed from zplane, on their website they are talking about v2 now, so I think it's possible it will improve in Live 6
