Please Help a Newbie

I can't work out how I can draw in some longer notes. For example at the moment I can only put in half quavers (can't remember what they are called). I need to be able to draw in notes that last four beats, or just a single beat. I am using Ableton 4. Please help

Just draw in your notes, then select them with the mouse and then hold your mouse over the end of one of the notes and drag them out to however long you want them.
