Ableton and Audio for 16 Channels VSTi

Post by BigAl » Sun Feb 05, 2006 9:09 pm

How to configure Ableton to work with plugins that has 16 channels of audio? I am using the Halion for now and only one channel of audio works. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,

for multi-timbral instruments you need to create a new audio track for each individual output from halion/kontakt/battery. you can do all your midi in one track, but i personally like to have individual midi tracks. in Live, though, that gets kinda hectic with all the midi/audio tracks layin around.

One of the main reasons I'm looking forward to Acid Pro 6!!!

"ACID Pro 6 software supports ReWire and VST plug-ins, and includes more than 20 built-in DirectX® audio effects. Use VST soft synths with multiple output ports and individually mute, solo, add effects to, and adjust volume for each soft synth bus control"

that sounds both vague and exactly like any other multi-out host... where's the difference from Live? It doesn't say you don't have to open up tracks for it.

Well it's due for release next month so we'll get the final answer then.

I'm so looking forward to going back to Acid now that's it's on the level to being a full DAW with all the necessary audio and MIDI features.
