I could reproduce the problem now. It happens when multiple
DirectShow decodings run simultaneously. The output of 4 out of
10 identical concurrent decodings contains less silence at the
beginning, 26 resp. 52 ms.

Thanks to everybody who reported details about the problem.

Special kudos go to martin808, Co-lab, red33mer, and serotoninsteve,
who experimented with decoding and sent me valuable reports, material,
screenshots, etc.

Now I'll try to find a fix (better than installing QuickTime).

We have a fix now for the jumping waveform bug.

It cannot automatically fix asd files or clips in songs based on
a bad decoding which occured in the past, but all future
decodings should be reliable, at least if the standard decoders
are used.

The beta test for the next Live update will start in a few days,
it will contain the fix. It is a new AudioRipper.ax, which is part of
the Live installation, that resolves the problem. We will not officially
release the AudioRipper.ax separately, cause we are afraid to lose
control and leave the users in confusion if we do not follow the
standard update mechanisms.

All your mp3´s wich had the jumping waveform bug and where saved in clipview will still have the markers offset wich you can easiely fix by clicking on a warpmarker, hit ctrl+a and adjust them in one go. Save. Dunno.
