REVOLT!!!
Since Abelton has stubbornly refused to provide the necessary bug fixes for our various issues (CPU spikes, audio crackles, etc) and therefore making the product we all purchased or upgraded to useless for the past several months; which also resulted in loss of revenue for live perfomance opportunities, we should demand that an upgrade to 6 should be free or have our money fully refunded! <Yeah right!>
5.2 better fix their mess of a product or I am jumping ship. I have had enough of this shitty "upgrade". Make mine Live 4!
And I can't believe that Mac Powerbook Pro users are forced to spend more money on Live 5 for a product that does work properly already! Being a non-Mac user I will state that's really fucked up!

I know almost a dozen people in Melbourne that are using Live 5, and only one has ever been able to run it flawlessly. He also just DJ's with it and runs two tracks of audio at any given time.
I agree that a full version 6 increase is completely jumping the gun. Howver, it might have to have been done if they did a maaajor code rewrite to fix all the shit thats hapenning with v5.
If v4 had PDC I would have never upgraded.

I agree totally...
Why the F*** ableton go on and on about live 6 when the version 5 I bought on the day it came out still has many bugs that need to be fixed.(Don't give me any excuses about hardware or the like cause thats just bull I use Standard PBook)
I really hope ableton see this post.
Please fix this version and get it running with stability and decent performance on current hardware Mac OSX/PC XP.I wanna see this before I see news about version 6
Peace

Well thank God. Ableton can see that I'm not the only one. I bought Live 5 almost EIGHT MONTHS AGO and it is completely useless. 5.2 is my last straw...it better be amazing or I would concur that a full-scale refund be alloted.

I'm reading through the bugs and problems and I'm curious what some of the specific bugs are people are experiencing?
Most of the bugs and problems I see come down to personal taste or work flow - which seems more like a feature wishlist type of thing
but what is exactly wrong with the program it self
Obviously I'm one of the lucky ones who can do all kinds of weird stuff and have zero issues
but then again, I really wasn't that keen to writting good music version 4 or prior so I really can't compare but 5 is awesome
29 tracks, multiple reverbs, auto filters, compressors and delays - CPU is high but nothing a little track freeze couldn't take care of?
just curious
thanks

Some of the bug issues that I have in Live 5:
1. CPU spikes when I run one instance of Simpler with EQ Four & Filter Delay in a MIDI track and in the Master track I will have another EQ Four along with a Compressor II . And this will sometimes occur when I switch Live Sets.
2. Random crackling/popping of audio/midi (when running above).

Not trying to troubleshoot here but I get the random cracks and pops but I just adjust my buffer higher and no more cracks and popsjasonjbundy wrote:

the CPU spikes - hmmmmm...does it make your system stop working or slow down?
Haven't had a CPU spike since 5.0

Well that's a bit harsh...but yes...I for one have listed my issues with Live 5 about...well...five times.
Everyone pay attention now...LARGE SETS. Sets with 4 or more gigs of audio files (roughly 20 songs) play fine in Live 4. The exact same set is a trainwreck in Live 5. Stuttering, delayed clips, Red "D" flashes, one or even two full measure dropouts, GUI sluggishness, etc. Again..the EXACT same session that runs fine in Live 4.

and he knows that people have, because hes been doing the same thing for a while now. i dont think its harsh in this case at all. he consistantly comes in these threads for no purpose but .. well, i dont exactly know what the purpose is.solovox wrote:Well that's a bit harsh...but yes...I for one have listed my issues with Live 5 about...well...five times.
people have issues with a product that doesnt function to the point where they cant work with it. consistantly the same problems reported over and over by different people on different systems day after day and week after week
and consistantly the same few wankers without the problem come in to either gloat or imply that all the people that do have the problem are at fault. its not bad enough that you cant finish projects or gig, you then have somebody buzzing around like that
a stfu is in order once in a while i think. thats all.
