how many audio tracks with Live 5 on quad G5?
how many audio tracks with Live 5 on quad G5?
Im hanging around here reading all the shit and cant find any info on track count. How many tracks of audio can you get with Live 5 I only have the demo which is struggling with eighteen unwarped audio tracks. Is this a demo limitation or something? I have a Quad G5 + external Glyph 80gig scsi drives so were talking real low track count here with the setup I have.

its gonna get better with Live6 buddy... hang in there.
There is not demo limitation as far as track count or cpu usage as far as i know. Live 5 still dosnt support multi-core or multi-processor systems. They say Live 6 will. heres the story:

I can play 30+ warped 16-bit 44.1kHz stereo tracks on a G5 2 x 2Ghz, 10,000RPM SATA drive.
I would think you could get more than that on your system, although there is no multi-core or multi-processor system at present. There is no demo limitation as far as I know.
Edit: I just dropped in 60 unwarped tracks, and it's happily playing with the CPU meter at 57%.
