New Ableton Skins Feb 06
Thought I'd start a new thread for this group of skins. The previous ones were merely cut/paste modifications. These were made from scratch. The new skins begin with the prefix pearson so they will not delete the older pearsonart skins if you should choose to keep both. There are 18 total.
This is a direct paste from the read me file. Below is the link. Enjoy!

New skins for Ableton Live, replacing the former files that were posted.
These were edited in HexEditor for OSX and have been tested in Live 5 OS 10.3.9. They haven't been tested and are not guaranteed for any other configurations.
That said, based on previous experience, they should work fine. edit: this includes cross platform use as with previous skins.
A few notes about my design concept:
Simply put, I made these for myself. I wanted to see a clear color theme for each choice in a modern, minimalist style. Tertiaries are my preference. White is a unifier. This is an extension of my approach to painting. Text is kept to traditional black so the result is 3 tone. All remaining elements are standardized for all skins. Clip colors are bold for contrast when working.
I've enjoyed using these for the last couple of months, testing and tweaking. No ill effects on the program have been noticed but I do not use the program's full features.
Finally, Ableton has generously allowed us to release these modified skins for general use with the request that we do not profit and do not disclose the method so I won't. Please do not ask.
I will consider making the three most requested skins if someone wants to collect votes and rank them.

You're welcome.
Regarding 1.5, it's possible but not as likely as building a new version of the 1.5 skin. I can't go into more detail than that.
Please feel free to begin a new thread asking for requests. If you do the work collecting and ranking them, I'll make the 3 most requested. I'm sorry but this is all I can commit to right now.

I did include a new build version of several existing Live skins, streamlined to the minimalist theme I established for this group.
These include a version of white and barrett based on Live version 1.1. The actual hue of white and offwhite took their cues from the forum pages here - tinted a little more to reduce eye strain. This skin became the template for the rest.
I also included a neutral/grey skin since so many people seem to agree it's practical. I called it neutral because it has no color shift at all. I don't personally use it but I'm perfectly willing to make some accommodation.
I continue to play making skins for fun. All of these were essentially finished months ago.
I'm just finishing up a show of new work to open in Boise, ID March 3rd so I have a LITTLE time to sit, browse, drink some tea, eat some chocolate and tinker.
I guess it's kind of silly but, depending on my state of mind, I sometimes enjoy making the skins more than I like using the program. Really.
It' a visual thing.
