rendering by track vs. master
rendering by track vs. master
hi, i looked around for a bit but couldn't find anything on this.
is it possible to render, track by track, versus the "master" track? the manual mentions something about this, but when i attempt to do so by the manual, it doesn't seem to work correctly.
my goal is to render each track so that i may pop each track into Adobe Audition (or Sound Forge, if i ever get a copy..) and use Audition's Equailizers and Compressors, then mix all of those tracks down. i'm hoping that by doing this, my mixdowns will come out a lot cleaner.
any suggestions are much appreciated!
i am using Live 5, btw.

I do this all the time
This means that a "multi render" option is already included in the program... it's just to be made automatic for the people!
Live 9 Suite, audio trackles (several audio tracks that crackle)

i will try the book method again, using the Solo function, which didn't seem to work last time i tried it.
thanks for the feedback!

Cleaner?
I'm curious why you would need to do this. I'm not implying that it's a bad idea, I just don't understand. What is the advantage of doing the mix in an external app? Is it just that you like Audition's EQ and compression better than Live's?

i have the same "issues".
i mix in logic, it has much more powerful envelopes.
if i have a song i scratch pad and record in live i have to manually bounce each track down and import into logic, but it is definately worth it. best of both worlds.

Great idea, how easy can it be?

that's just resampling the tracks though, not rendering a seperate audio files outside of live.serotoninsteve wrote:Total Multirender!abletoff wrote:Obineg wrote:you can record them realtime by making 8 new audio tracks and route you channels to them , if you´re not clear on how to route your tracks , check the manual . . . .

You could try putting TapeIt over each channel so that it records to your hard drive in real time, i havent tried it but i think it could work.

Indeed, it always takes the realtime, not so handy for longer pieces. Qualitywise it should be the same thought.
