external hard drive

I'm using albeton installed on my system drive, but working with .mp3 from a faster USB external drive, will I see an increase in performance? The decoding cache is still on my system drive, right? So I'm wondering if there is any real benefit.

you can move the decoding cache to the external drive in the prefs
