ctrl drag behaviour in clips different in arrangement

when you drag a clip in the arrangement, you can press ctrl at any time to change a moving drag into a copying drag. however, when copying notes in a midi clip, you have to press ctrl /before/ you start the drag otherwise it just moves. i find this inconsistency quite frustrating!

it is not just you.

Unfortunately this is the current behavior in the MIDI editor. It is on the improvement list but it will not make it into Live 5.2. But we hope to address it for Live 6.
