POWERBOOK CPU PROBLEM!!!!

Post by lightning_lucas » Fri Feb 24, 2006 5:08 pm

Hi my name is Olivier Goossens and I'm Living in Belgium

Well I have a question.

I have a Powerbook G4 17" 1,67g with 1024MB and ableton Live 5

everytime I use 8 tracks in a part of a song my music inmediatelly starts to clip.

I've heard this is a common problem, but what can I do about it.

Please help me because I've spend 400 euro's on a programm that doesn't work well.

THX in advance

Have you adjusted the buffer in Live's preferences? This is often the cause of unwanted noise when tracking.

If the buffer is set really low, raise it a little bit until the audio smooths out, then keep it set there.

If it acts up again you simply adjust again.

I've adjusted the buffer a million times .

But on other forums people say that the 2last generations of powerbooks are having problems with audio apps.

And even on this forum I've read that other people have the same problem with their powerbooks so Maybe its a fault in ableton itself.

No problems here. The other night I recorded a 40+ minute set with 2 mics and a few tracks worth of triggered samples.

I bought my PB new in July of 2005. Pretty sure it's one of the last gens.
