Bug: Losing sync in arrangement after 30 mins....

Post by toni » Sat Feb 25, 2006 3:12 pm

I recently recorded a jam longer than 1 hour with a friend. We had two laptops synced and recorded the jam in each of our computers. When playing back the arrangement in each of our computers we could skip to any part of the arrangement up to 30 minutes but when we tried to jump to say minute 40 the slave computer would not follow the master computer. So the slave computer would stay where it was playing at before. Though if you played the arrangement without jumping around it would stay in sync of course. We made sure that sync was in song mode and tried syncing either laptop to each other but still the same problem. Has to be a bug in my opinion.

yea for sure. as i said we tried changin the master and slave around but still the same problem. even after we saved under a different name. we ended up splitting the arrangement in two parts to make it easier to work on.

I have had live 5 lose sync quite a few times.
It only happens after being in sync for quite a while with no problems (Say 15-20 mins). No tempo changes or anything just two PBooks sequencing together.
I thought this was normal and have never reported it. Should live stay in sync longer without problems when you are syncing to external gear ?

i'm talking specifically when working in the arrangement view. surely letting the arrangement play from beginning to end without stopping it would stay in sync but if you jumped around after the 30 min mark would it lose sync in the arrangement. just try stretching a loop over 1 hour in the arrangement view and see if the slave computer will change location after the 30 min mark.
