Using Digi OO2 to record into Live 4 (without Rewire)

Post by BlueRidge » Sat Feb 25, 2006 7:41 pm

I'm trying to use the mic's and synths that are plugged into my Digi 002 control surface to record into Live without rewiring it thru ProTools.

I can record into PT fine, but if I boot up Live without protools, the console seems to indicate it can "hear" my synths and 'see" the Midi, but i can't get Live to see and hear it.

Any help would be appreciated.

make sure lives audio pref is set to the digi asio drivers ( i think.)
then click input config on same page to activate the hardware inputs, which prolly were not activate since you may not have used them in live before.
then for each track, you will have those available as choices for input.

no asio for mac

also you can select the input in the track chanel strip (similer to PT)
if your inputs arn't configured yet you will see "configure" in the drop down menu

also make sure you trun the tracks monitor mode to "on"
this will alow the audio to play through the track in live

Thanks, Mike and Ben -- Live is smarter than I thought; in Audio Preferences, it asks you at the bottom of the dialogue to conigure 1/2, 3/4, etc -- and my Korg was 5/6 -- which I hadn't checked.

I hadn't expected Live to detect all 18 of Digi's 002 outputs but it does, and receives them.

Thanks for your help, it sent me back to the tright page.

make sure live in in your list of available apps in the digicore audio manager.
if you are running the version 6.4 you have to manually add apps to it for them
to work with the driver.

update the digicore audio driver to 6.5.2 (that still works with protools 6.4) and
you won't have to manually add apps anymore.
