Ableton Live 4 with a Korg MicroKontrol

I'm having problems with getting this set up.

I've read instructions given by my Ableton Live 4 Power book, the manual, the MicoKontrol manual and the notes that come on the CD-Rom relating to the MicroKontrol.

I am still unable to get this set up with live correctly. Furthermore, on the odd occassion I have been able to, I have only been able to generate sounds from Battery 2 via the MicroKontrol when I have opened up the live_Korg.als file that was on ther CD-Rom for this controller.

Is this file like a template for me to use within Live ? Is this what I need to open everytime I decide to work with Live and the controller ? This file opens up with a number of tracks, which i am supposedly able to control volume and panning on, but only the pan pots work.

I'd appreciate any help on this, as I'm thoroughly frustrated.
