MIDI-Recording of Jamstix

Post by Sir Maybe » Wed Dec 14, 2005 6:55 am

Hello everybody!

When I try to record the MIDI out of Jamstix (a sound and note generating drum VSTI for those who don´t know) the data that´s recorded in in Live 5.02 (and in 5.03b5 as well) isn´t accurate at all.
Nearly all the bassdrum notes are missing (mapped to C1 as usual), as well as snare (D1) and some toms.
All in all it´s only the hihats and cymbals that seem recorded accurately.

Other hosts don´t do this (recording in Cubase SX 3 is accurate) so I definitely believe it´s a Live problem.

Any suggestions/considerations on this?

Maybe a mapping bug in Live? FYI I can record other VSTI´s using the MIDI keyboard just fine.

this needs another bump.

The Live6 demo still does the same thing.

It is definately a Live problem as all other hosts work fine. The funny thing is that most times when playing jamstix the kick will be missing, then by muting the hats, the kick returns.......

anyone have any ideas on this one?

Hi all,

seem to have found a solution to this by using the Midi-Router (drummer.dll) in the downloads section on the Rayzoon website. It says its for Traktion and Samp, and its based on a DFHS mapping (easily remapped to any other module), but it so far seems to work with live as well, and very easy to use.
