Prelistening should be improved !!!

Post by Wedge » Sun May 12, 2002 8:45 am

hi folks !

In my opinion the prelisten function is for nothing. Normally when i work with a dj mixer then you use the gain to trim the signal to the same level just like the other that i running. The prelisten in LIVE does not work in a correct way, cause when i have the line fader on ground then there is NO monitor signal any more. Why doen´t you change this ? Regards

Wedge,
i think you are right. the way it is now is a bit confusing because we did not split the prelisten / solo functionality clear enough. but we will change this in the next bigger release...

Solo: post fader
Prelisten : pre fader.

this is how it should be, right ?
( if anyone has objections let us know...)

No objections,
a pre/post switch in the master track would be nice.

And one master button for un-solo-ing/un-pfl-ing all track at once.
Like when you switch off the "solo" funtion on a Yamaha 02R.

dear robert

Solo: post fader
Prelisten : pre fader.

this solution seems to be really good !
only one thing: i cannot understand the sense to implementate prelistening FADERS ?!
in my opinion it is really enough to correct the function of the prelisten BUTTONS

--> this would have the advantage that you could use the >sample settings - gain< to adjust the volume and use the mixer fader to put the signal directly to the master ///
