Very Confused When Warping

Post by CSewell » Tue Feb 28, 2006 9:31 pm

Why does the loop brace immediatly shrink when I move a warp marker? Is this a quantization issue?

set a warpmarker at the beginning of the loop brace and one at the end of the loop brace -

you should now be able to set warp markers inside of the loop and move them with the loop length not moving

True, but if I nedd to move the first warp marker (to fix latency for instance) it still occurs.

if i have a loop and only the first warp marker (number 1) is highlighted in yellow, then it can be moved it to any position in the loop without the loop brace shrinking! excuse me if im stating the bleeding obvious ...

if i want my first warp marker to fall on, let's say, the first beat of a loop and i have to adjust the warp marker - then i sometimes do this -

say the place where i want the first warp marker to be at the start of the beat is closer to position 1.2 than it is to the position of where the first warp marker currently is .... click onto 1.2 - move it to the postion of the beginning of the beat (here the loop brace will shrink), then double click warp marker number 1. it now disappears and the 1.2 marker becomes warp marker number 1 !!!

then you have to move the start of the loop brace to the new number 1 warp marker - the loop brace is now of it's original size but ofcourse you have extra space or recorded material at the end of your loop - i think i just talked myself into a hole

i guess any unwanted audio in the extra length loop length can be edited out in volume envelopes - not sure if this is of any help to you - im not sure exactly what you situation is except trying to deal with latency

ironic that im trying to advise on other people's problems when i have only been using music software since 2 months ago - it's a good way of learning but ofcourse means i may be talking complete gobshite
