Trouble with Reaktor in Live 5

Post by paul » Thu Mar 02, 2006 2:51 pm

OK, yesterday I upgraded from Live 3 to Live 5, and it could be the best 99E I've ever spent.
Every little irritating idiosyncracy that's ever bugged me has gone, to be replaced by exactly what I wished was there from the start:
Right clicking in Windows... simple Mono/Stereo in-out options... lessons (like latency compensation, I needed that!!) ... Midi ... VST support!! YAY!

BUT

Pretty much every VST device works fine apart from Reaktor. It's always worked fine in FL Studio, and still does. (So I guess I can still ReWire into Live, but why bother when Live supports VST?? I don't plan to use FL much more, great shame cos it rocks)

Anyway, Reaktor launches in Live, it receives MIDI, the track receives a signal ... but the output just goes click-click.

Does anyone know what's wrong? Or if there's an obvious setting I need to check?

So hoping someone can help, because Reaktor is my single favourite VST, bar none.

I use Reaktor5 VST and Live with no problems. What version of
Reaktor are you using?

ooh, good question. year or so old.
I'll have to check at home.
then I'll cough and mumble. there wasn't much documentation with it see...

let me reply later tonight, I'd love any help you can offer!
It also seems to make Live crash awfully shortly afterwards, so something's not very happy.

cheers, I'll be back.

make sure the the output on the instrument you are using is routed to the output on your soundcard.

lkets say you are using junatik, in the output select a destination for the L and R outputs - I dont think it does this by default the first time

cheers

I've never changed a thing in the set up of Reaktor. When running it within FL it happily squirts audio wherever it's supposed to to make a nice noise, so I've assumed it's always been set up right by default.

Anyway, if I understand you right i'm going home now to do something like this:

Launch Reaktor within Live.
Find a Set Up menu on Reaktor.... somewhere, must be obvious.
Set outputs L & R to M-Audio Ozone 1 & 2

presumably that then routes signal back into Live.

If that works, ta for your help!!

I'VE SHIFTED THIS THREAD TO BUGS, WHERE I SHOULD'VE PUT IT TO START WITH.

CHEERS FOR HELP.

Its R4 btw, and apparently a bit buggy for others too, so for now it's gonna have to live re-wired from FL studio host.
