ALBETON 5.0 and E-Mu 1616m PCMCIA soundcard

Post by twofatcaps » Thu Mar 02, 2006 6:12 am

I'm having a problem with my E-mu 1616m PCMCIA soundcard and Live 5. I think i've installed the soundcard correctly (everyting, diagnostic-wise, seems to be working and in place) and Ableton is installed correctly, but when i'm getting everything configured and setting up the preferences i'm running into a problem. I'm in the 'Audio' section of the preferences, trying to set my input and output configuration under 'channel configuration', and when i select the input, it's completly blank inside and there's nothing for me to select. There should be like, 16 of them, as it's an ASIO driver and the E-Mu soundcard has so many inputs. I don't know what is wrong, whether it's a problem with Live's settings, my computer's settings, or maybe with the E-Mu's. Any ideas or comments would really help, this is my first time installing/using Live. Thanks.

Did you create the nessecery channelstrips in E-mu's patchmix and insert the nessecery ASIO sends and so forth? 'Cause if you havent done that - LIVE can not "feel" the in's an out's on your audio interface and the Audio pref's in Live will be empty.
The Patcmix is awkward to work with as it is all in "building blocks" and nothing is "Automatic for the people"
Gearslut :o)
