A Meatbeat remix (Angstrom)

Post by Angstrom » Sat Mar 04, 2006 3:49 pm

I thought I'd post this here to celebrate our new forum.
I tried to keep it pretty similar to the original and take it in my own direction, a little more upbeat / funky with a change to the bassline things later on. I kept it short too, 3 minutes something.

Anyway, it was fun.

MBM Wild - Angstrom remix

Feel free to praise my musical genius, etc ;)

Nice jazzy feel. Some searing trumpet /brass seems imminent. Like the retrained synth licks.

Thanks
& yeah, I know what you mean about the horns, I've been doing a lot of "burlesque" music recently.
I probably should have put them in, but I didn't want to impose too much of my personality on it, keep it a remix rather than a complete re-write.

Neat groove; I like how settled it sounds & that you use the full freq specktrom rather than just just the <250Hz like many do. Would be great more extended for live remixing, or a nice filter drop in the middle + a few vox for the downtempo singles market.

thanks,
I felt I shouldn't really add too much more to it (vocals etc) as it was a remix of Meatbeat Manifesto. I subscribe to the school of thought that remixes should sound a bit like the original. Well I didn't want to show them up now did I ;)
