UC-33e w/ Ableton (12 o'clock on MIDI knob to be 0dB in EQ)

Post by vizon » Thu Mar 09, 2006 2:37 am

Does anyone know how to get the UC-33e to have its MIDI knobs assigned to Ableton in a fashion so that 12 o'clock noon on the MIDI knob is 0dB in Ableton (on the assigned EQ)?

Basically I want MIDI control #s 0-63 to be assigned to inf - 0dB on the EQ in Ableton. I then want 64-127 to be assigned to 0dB -> +6dB.

It's annoying having to use 3 o'clock on the MIDI knob as 0dB. Plus when mixing it's not even that accurate in that area. Ughhhhh.

Well, is it even possible to do this? Each EQ knob in Ableton can only be assigned one MIDI controller # (1/101, etc). So, between inf -> +6 dB on the EQ knob in Ableton there are 128 (0-127) possible MIDI slots. I would need 0-63 for inf -> 0 dB whilst needing 64-127 for 0 -> +6 dB. However, this would require two different MIDI knobs to be assigned, no? I mean, it's not like your modifying the MIDI activity through Ableton. This would have to be done WITHIN Ableton, am I wrong?

Good Question - I ran into the same problem. I decided to buy an 8 out (gigaport ag) soundcard and use my allen & health xone:62 mixer instead to mix my songs with!!

Hey!

Just wanted to give you credit for a good subject headline that actually talks about the coming question.

As opposed to:

"Gee-wiz - I hate when..."

"That's the worst f***king feature ever"

"Could you please help me?"

Thanks. Vizon!

ps. Sorry I can't help with your question
