Post by jrsavage » Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:52 am

Hi nu the forum, but i thought i would share my (nearly) finished bespoke live controller.

Specs wise it has -

4 channel faders
1 master fader
1 cross fader
19 assignable rotary pots
32 assignable buttons
navagation joystick (mapped to arrow keys)
alt, shift an f12 keys (for general use)

Its a bit tatty but will be painted and touched up soon!

When its finished it will be housed in a old arcade quiz machine complete with touch screen!

looks cool! im also about to build one, just waiting for the boards & parts now. I like your design, looks very functionable. Why just 4 channels though?

Yeah i know needs more but i was limited as its not built from scratch.

Well i started with a oxygen 8 an doepfer pocket controller and basicly ripped them to bits (so to speak), replaced the 5 pots on the oxy8 with 100mm faders, 1 with 60mm fader, rewired 2 pots and the mod wheel to a separate pcb. Then rewired the doepfer PC pots on to separate boards of 4.

All the buttons are wired from a keyboard hack i made, 39 buttons in total inc joystick, which are just remapped keys. Buttons bought from ebay, which saved a lot of money!

All the boards from the various parts are then attached to the bottom housing.

I basicly got all the info from searchin forums an the like!
But the website that was posted is a wicked resource, an the doepfer one is also worth a look, very good products. [/quote]
