good f****g god HELP

i recently upgraded to live 5

heres what im doing
i have about 20 wav's in diffrent tracks and during some of my sets i get a studder man ITS SO FUCKING embarassin!!
i love live but is this a 5 issue
i play in south africa in 2 weeks for about 12,000 people
please someone what shoul i do

i even bought a new sound card cause i thought it was the problem its the m audio audphile fire wire
i have it set at 512 should i set to 1024?
i have a dell inspirion 6000 with 700 and somthing mgs of ram

should i just go back to 4?

play with the buffer.
see if you can find a setting that decreases the stuttering.

do you have at least 1GB of RAM?
i used to have stuttering on my old G4 when it had only 512MB.
i upped it to 1.25GB and all the stuttering went away.

wouldn't hurt.
play around with the buffer first though. if that doesnt work i would add more ram. i only speak from personal experience.

you want to play 24 tracks of audio at once? that is a lot of audio to be streaming from the hard drive.
are you using your internal hard drive? it may not be albe to handle the disk IO.

you could consolidate some of your clips into one clip to reduce the load.

and i recommend more ram. get rid of the 256MB chip and put a 1GB in.

if you are playing to 12k people, you need as much RAM as you can afford. 2gb is probably your max on your machine capacity.

i mean i play one track at a time well 2 when im mixing tracks together
but i have the tracks in slots
4 main trsacks and 10 slots full of full song
get what i mean?

yeah fuck it im gonna order another 512 chip tonight

i think im gonna reinstall ableton 4 just in case
and go with it

exactly.. theres no science to it.. you just gotta find out if its a latency issue or not.
if 911 samples works for you, then go with it.

yea, a buffer of 911 samples... its just an example.

what i mean to say is the exact # of samples in your buffer doesn't matter. (other than increased latency). what matters is that you get rid of the stuttering/dropouts. so if that means you don't get rid of them until 800.. 911.. 1250... 1343 samples... then whatever! as long as the problem is fixed.
