Can't we all just get along? I don't think so.
I don't understand some of these pointless brown nosing replies...
Generally most musicians have better things to do than make up storys about plugins not working correctly in this program etc...most would rather make music than talk shit I am sure.
If you have a version of Live working perfectly get off these posts and get down to business.
Check out the current plugin situation post by frank hoffman if you claim only freebies have problems. Whats your beef ? If you are happy be happy..come on
Why not think before you accuse other Live users of being liars.
Who do you think it is beta testing the program? These people help because they are honest about the program and report its faults.
Sort it out and let everyone have their say and if you have nothing constructive to add, don't say anything... :x

Now that's what I'm talking about. Preach it, brother!

I'll be loading up 502b5 later today or tomorrow and see how it stacks up...

Pardon me if this question seems silly to some but I am not sure if this exists outside beta releases.

Is there a log/dump file that is left somewhere on the system when live craps out and goes "not responding..." while you are working on something? I basically hit the X button and click on the requester to have the program shut down. If this leaves a log that may give me information to help me or Ableton debug it I'd like to know where. My main problem (seen repeatedly) is using Live 5.0.3 + Battery 2 (2 instances on MIDI tracks). You can read about it in that thread. So far noone has bothered to respond with any insight or help to assist in trying to debug it.

Thanks,

Mike

If you are addressing me, i'm not sure what you're talking about.

I'm not accusing anyone of lying.

I am offended by a lot of the posts that are all about bashing the program and in my opinion not constructive at all.

I'm not claiming that only freebies have problems. (even though that is the case for me, i don't own a whole lot of plugs. probably about 5.) The only reason i brought that up is because someone in this post was complaining about plugs made in synth edit.

does render to disk even work in Live 5?

Post by lovemafia » Thu Mar 09, 2006 12:44 am

I have a 9 track project in Live I am trying to render down so that I can import it into Logic. It (Live) keeps crashing....

I can see that other people are having issues with "render to disk"..

My computer is a "fresh out of the box" iMac G5 2.0 ghz 512 MB.All I have on this machine are industry standard audio software and plug-ins.
I am using a Yamaha i88x firewire interface....
I am running Live 5 version 5.0.2
What is the deal? I never had this issue in Live before and I have been using it since it came out here in the States.

PLz help.. I'm starting to feel bad that I recommended this program to so many of my customers.

a very simple reason why this thread is important

Post by ian hands » Tue Mar 14, 2006 10:09 pm

this will no doubt infuriate the happy, 'Live never crashing' gang::roll:

Using Live 4.0.4 from 26.10.04 to 22.02.05 – 16 crashes

Using Live 5.0.2 from 11.10.05 to 14.03.06 – 218 crashes

and I have been out of the country for 3 weeks over the recent period and tend not to use Live as often as I used to for obvious reasons

same computer, same set-up, except no external vst effects anymore to help 'minimise' the crashes in 5
