Live won't 'close' unless I unplug Trigger Finger or O2

Post by timothyallan » Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:09 pm

It 'closes', but still shows up in Taskmanager until I unplug either my TF or O2 keyboard (or sometimes both!), then it actually 'closes'.

I just did a brand new fresh install of XP SP2, don't have any wierd midi loops going on, and am using the latest M-Audio drivers.

Doesn't happen in Cubase, only in Live.

I had seen that this was happening for other people as well, but I'm not sure if they were using M-Audio gear. The funny thing is, is that my O2 came with my Live bundle :)

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Tim

same problem here

Post by rupps » Wed Mar 22, 2006 11:26 am

Hi!

It looks like a problem with the MIDI driver. I have Evolution UC33, UC16 and MK249C2 (M-Audio bought evolution) and occassionally have the same problem. It not only happens to Live, I have the same problem with other midi programs.

My suggestion: I don't have any good suggestion. Cheap suggestions:

1) Use Microsoft driver instead of MAudio/Evolution driver. Yes, Microsoft drivers do suck a lot, they are not multiclient and stuff, but this problem is less frequent.

2) Mail-Bomb M-Audio asking for a driver update. The actual driver is pretty old and I don't know if they plan to upgrade it.
