I just bought a MIO2882 interface and rightnow the pluggies seem to work more stable in live!? Anyone a clue about that?
But there is another problem! I just thought, hey boy you have an incredible cool IMac and a superior interface, combined with a superfunky extra fly sequencer, why not quit the old way of recording and walk the pros way with 96khz! Guess what, the sound improvement was big to my ears.
Now there are my new problems:
I found out that Live offers me lower latencies at higher sample rates, but the cpu load is unbelievable high! I had nearly 45% using a Kontakt VST PlugIn in Live 5 playing just the Steinway Preset Piano with lots of clicks and pops (latency issues I think!?). Unless I would try to use a sound like that for some really scary underground beat music I can not be very satified with that. And another thing that makes me wonder that there are still pops clicks and stuff at 1024 samples buffer size! Has anyone a clue about that.
Believe me guys I listened to some stereotracks in live at 96 kHz and through the MIO! It sounds awesome! But at the moment using pluggy instruments is nearly impossible! I have also pops and clicks with Sonic Synth, Minimonsta, Korg Legacy Digital Edition. Just the Simple, Impulse and my UHe Zebralette and Podolksi Synths seem to work fine at 1024 buffer size. Okay at 1024 the pops are just a few in every minute! But how can I record a track when it is popping and stuff?! I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed help!
