Audio -> MIDI
hi
anyone know a audio -> midi converter that will convert and stream midi back into Live (as opposed to creating MIDI files)? tried the WIDIsoft converter, which claims to stream midi out simultaneously... but Live doesn't seem to see the stream... don't know how to use a Plugin as a MIDI In.
any advice?
thanks!

well
no replies, but i've made progress... i found that the plugin i am using appears as a midi input in the 'Midi From' dropdown box on the midi tracks.
problem is, the midi data's not coming through. the plugin IS sending data out... there's an option to send data to my midi-out port, so if i do that, then cable that straight back into my midi-in, i can get the data as normal midi-input. but that's no good...
any ideas why a midi channel wouldn't be receiving midi from a plugin that is sending midi?
i've selected the plugin as my input.
the track is set to record/monitor.

MIDIYoke
If you can send the MIDI out to an external device, you can consider installing MIDIYoke. It's free, and acts like a virtual MIDI hub in software. 8 ports are available, so after installing, set the output cahnnel to MIDIYoke Port 1 (for example), then create a second track in Live that uses MIDIYoke Port 1 as it's input. That second track would contain you iVSTs, or Live plugins.
That will definitely work until there's some other solution from Ableton.

hi. I've have been on that question for a while, tried a lot of plugs (widi,...) without any acceptable results (playing guitar) and if I have good memory, those plugs are not poly.
I bought a terratec ax100mkII, perfect play recognition and perfect polyphony: the bomb! the roland GR20 works quite well also.
peace
