MIAMI- South Florida - Ableton buddies

Post by leandrogonza » Thu Jan 12, 2006 9:28 pm

Hello everyone:

I just had a silly idea, and i want to check it.
IS THERE ANYBODY IN MIAMI using Live 5 as their primary Sequencer???
Cause everybody i ask, don't even heard of it.
I need to know if any of you guys are from miami, to see if maybe one day we can form an Ableton Group here in south Florida, Usa.

Thanks Friends.

From the Palm tree land.

Leandro.

Greetings, I have a 2 piece live jamband/electronica band. We go by morsetoad. Live looping, Live sampling, and live musicianship. My name is Justin. I play guitar, keys, synths, drums etc all based in ableton and my boy Brandon plays bass. With roots in Jazz and Funk, we play a form of Jazz/FunK/Electro with a rock attitude. It's cool to learn that there is a fellow ableton user nearby. Life is rough for a Musician in miami, land of sunshine and shady people. It's rough seeking out gigs. I'd be insterested in seeing what you are doing with live, as we all have varrying approaches. Are you playing out at all?

I live in Miami also. I just recently installed Live 5 but havent had a chance to mess around with it much. I do plan on using it as my DAW.

I wont be attending WMC, but could definitely swing by some evening if a group is hooking up.

What about Remix Hotel? That's where we should meet. It's more casual and it's free and it rocks! I was granted the honor of setting up an exhibit there last year. Check it! This year it will be held at the National Hotel which is much closer to the action.

I'm up here in Fort Pierce. There probably isn't a live user for 50 miles. Maybe i'm wrong... If so let me know. Would be good to connect.

I only paid $6 for parking, but that's not the point. It's very rare for us to get to feast on all the latest technology and inside tips and techniques, down here in the deep south- and all in one place- for free!
Heck, just today I saw presentations by Chris Garret (Theivery Corp.), Dubfire (Deep Dish), and Sander Kleinenberg without having to get up from the couch! Trust me my friend, it is worth the trip.

If any of you are at the conference saturday or sunday, you can check out Dave Hill Jr. and I doing demos at the Sam Ash booth in WMC hotel (Wyndam hotel). We'll be popping in and out between 11 and 5pm.

Dave will be participating in WMC forums there at 12:30 on Saturday and 2:30 on Sunday as well.

Best,
Jesse

I live in Miami

Post by danryanfl » Sun Mar 26, 2006 1:22 am

I'm a UM student that DJ's using Live. I haven't got a gig yet, but I've had lots of fun in my apartment and making mix cds.

I want to get into the production side of things soon, I'm saving up for a midi keyboard, and I hope I will have more time come summer to fool around with stuff.
