DJ Techniques/VST Effects.

Post by Patch » Mon Jan 09, 2006 12:07 pm

These are the VST effects I'm using at the moment - but I'm always looking for more...

Glitch - say no more...
Reversinator - very cool...
TempoSyncReverser - also cool...
Instajungle - just getting into this...
Supatrigga - indespensible...

BeatRepeat
Autofilter
Ping-Pong Delay
Simple Delay
Flanger
Phaser

Please add to this list. I've just had a play with CrazyIvan - anyone have any views on this crazy plug???

I'm also experimenting with beat juggling techniques using duplicated clips with offset start points, follow actions and the cross fader/punch buttons on my DM2. Getting some fuckin' cools results...

You should get the maxim digital audio (mda) plugin pack and bufferoveride, both available for free @ http://www.mda-vst.com/ & http://destroyfx.smartelectronix.com/
Also NI's Reaktor5, Cycling 74's Pluggo, mode, hipno, & max/msp are all defacto plugin sets giving you more than enough options to modify your sound. I use em all, and love them. Also check out bigtick , and linplug for other ok freebies.

post some of these cool results, I've tried beat juggling in past never pulled it off properly.

Just got Glitch, and in the future its going to b used a hell of alot, I dont really use much vst effects apart from autofilter which comes with Live and ping pong & simple delay.

there are several good granular, delay, and vsti plug ins at http://tweakbench.com

sideslip is "somewhat" similar to glitch, and free, though i have had some issues with it in live, it is mostly stable.

yoink is a chaos pad vst.

and 4front piano is a great free piano vsti at http://www.yohng.com/piano.html

supatrigger is friggin awesome.

this could go on forever...

KT Granulator rocks for all kinds of weird granular stuff. Live Cut for breakbeat on the fly slicing and weird glitch sounds.

(both available from smartelektronix as above)
