That sucks... The local guys here at Guitar Center beat the pants off of any deal out there so far.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

Can anyone of the remote sl owners tell me how long the faders are ? They don´t look like 60mm ones.
Can you really use them to mix trax ?
What about the Pads ? I´m used to the pads on the roland fantom-s and sadly those pads are nearly unusable.

btw. I found some pitures of the remote sl61 on the net. Sadly novation placed all controls in the middle of the keyboard. I can´t understand why they haven´t put everything on the left side, so that you can place a computer keyboard on the right side.

Anyway, the remote sl is really tempting. Thumbs up for novation and ableton for the very quick implementation of automap. :D

I´ll certainly try the sl 37 as soon as it´s available (and as soon I can force one of the guys in the musicstore to connect a remote sl to a computer with a properly installed ableton 5)

Ok, I should have read the posts more carefully, since it´s already been said that the faders are 40mm ones.
I still wonder if 40mm are very useful.

I just don't understand how is everybody losing their pants for the Automap feature which is EXACTLY the same as Korg's Native Mode which has been out for more than a year and present in Microkontrol and Kontrol49 keyboards. Guess Novation does better marketing.

It also puzzles me why Ableton does implement Automap and not Native Mode in the next release.

Ableton, is it that hard?

That was exactly my idea, what a hell Novation writes "groundbreaking" "innovation" when Korg did it 2-3 years ago, but then................
I got SL and know what they mean, Korgs was great innovation 2-3 years ago, exactly, but Novation is another level, my Korgs became obsolete-cheesy leds, jumping pots, uselees pads- the good part is- after using 2 years I got same or more money then I paid for. I loved using K org in native mode, used it, enjoyed it, sold it, moved ahead- SL does 10x more.
Anyway try SL and you will know why, what etc....
I think Ableton did right, very smart they are, not investing into passing, meanwhile old technology.

Would you like to buy my microkontrol?

I'm saving up for something will functionality, dependablilty, ease of use, time saving features, real-time performance and full-sized keys.

I proudly own one already. It must be a matter of preference, I would't swap it for the SL in any way. It just does what I neeed, looks great and I love having 3 octaves + pads in a compact size for live usage. It's just that novation has pushed for Automap support and Korg hasn't, no technical reasons there...

The more I think about it, the more I want to say that it's worth keep around for those very same reasons.

add me to the depressed horde of Korg Kontrol owners. I'm more mad at Korg than Ableton because Korg obviously never gave the abes enough incentive to include their technology.

I still love my Kontrol49 but I might have to trade it in for something I can really get full use out of. Maybe some Reason user will make me a trade. :?

Anyway congrats to the people who have a fully mapping SL keyboard. :)

But please Ableton maybe you can make both technologies work! Pretty please...

I'm not sure what the axiom technolog is, but if maudio is selling automappable devices I find it realistice to take this into conseration when trying to guess Lives's future.
