Cubase as master to Live...

Hi guys,

I'm testing Live so I'm using the Live demo and I have to say: it's fantastic. The only problem I had is when I want to use Live in Slave mode with Cubase 5.1. (It works great as master to Reason 1.1)

I start Cubase, open a few Rewire channels. After that I launch Live, which gives this error message:

Detected problems with the Rewire master application. Live will not behave correctly. Please see the manual addendumsection on solving ReWire slave problems.

Then Live appears as normal, but it is NOT is slave mode. I can close Live, but when I want to close Cubase I get:

Please close all other Rewire applications.

After that, I have to kill Cubase to get it closed.

Is it normal these Rewire channels in Cubase are names as

Ableton Live (Reason) Mix L
Ableton Live (Reason) Bus 03 --> 32

I also see the Reason channels (Cubase works correct with Reason).

Am I missing something? I read the manual addendumsection and I tried to reduce the number of Rewire channels but nothing helps.
I'm sure I'm missing something

Hi, mutsiprutsi.

First, the naming thing (Ableton Live (Reason) Mix L): Logic doesn't support the whole ReWire specification if the slave has no "Reason" or "ReBirth" in it's name. Unfortunately we can not detected if Logic is the master by the ReWire specification so we needed to do an unsave check. Always when the message "Detected problems with the ..." come up, Live writes -ReWireLogic in LiveOptions.txt. This will result in this "strange" names. But under Cubase this message shouldn't appear at all. You must activate at least one channel of Live in the ReWire view of Cubase before you launch Live, but you wrote you did this. Hmm? What sample rate are you using. Try 44100. And please write a mail to my directly.

the probleme that you have when you try to quite Cubase 5 is normal ...because Live 1.5 is a little bit slow to quite.So if you try to quit the host app (cubase) quicly just after live....you have probleme.

solution/ when you quite live in rewire slave mode...count :"1...2...3...4...5 ! " before quite Cubase ! it works!
Live 1.5 work very fine in slave mode i have no probleme

The "cubase rewire names"(Ableton Live (Reason)) are normal because you have reason and live in your hard disk
