Korg padKONTROL

Has anyone played one? Anyone want one? I got a trigger finger bundle with Live, but I hated the trigger finger..... yuk. I was thinking of getting an axiom, but maybe this would be a better option considering M-Audio's bad track record in regards to sample pads.

kind of wierd the axioms pads feel great, but the reps from M-Audio keep telling me they are the same as the trigger finger pads. They are actually using it as a marketing point - "comes with Trigger Finger pads". One thought might be is that the axiom is metal so it just feels sturdier. Also the thing feels like it built real well, keys are 7/10 too. I still think my kontrol49 keys are the best.

The FEEL of the TF are ok, until you actually use them!

As one of the padKontrol review said, using the TF is a 'hit and miss' affair. You have to hit it quite hard to guarantee it'll actually register the hit. I wanted something much more sensitive. TF is not for me.

So what about the Akai MPD 16 then ? How does it compare with the others ?

I like mine but I haven't touched anything else. I regularly get a double trigger though. I bought it used & it may not have been well taken care of.

Is there anyone here who have tried both and prefer the Triggerfinger to the Padkontrol?

I Feel the axiom pads are different from the trigger finger but M-Audio reps tell me they're the same, dont know, Axiom Pads feel way more responsive than the TFs, padKontrols are OK didnt seem like anything special to me, better than TF but not sayin much.

Been playing with the PK all day - it shits on the TF big style

so much so that my TF is now on the floor of my sudio looking despondant

The pads on the Korg feel lush compared to the clunky TF

*shakes with anticipation*

It's threads like these that make me...me....well, something.

I've had the PadKontrol on order here in the UK for a looooooooong while now and it's still not turned up. I telephoned Korg the other week and apparently there's been a problem (read 'delay') with the european shipment. It'll be mid/late April at the earliest apparently. Meh.

Stop getting me all excited! :D
